NAFC and CADTP Reciprocity in California

NAFC and CADTP Addictions Certifications Reciprocity in California

NAFC now has reciprocity with the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP) for its addictions
certifications. CADTP is one of only two (2) certification boards recognized by the California Department of Health CareServices (DHCS) to certify and register non-licensed AODA counselors in California.

Professionals in any state who hold any NAFC addictions certification and who do not hold professional licensure in California may apply to CADTP for consideration to become certified and registered through CADTP to practice AODA counseling in California without having to take the CADTP examination.

If you hold one of the above NAFC addictions certifications, please contact CADTP, or download the CADTP reciprocity application.

* NAFC members must continue to maintain their addictions certifications, active and in good standing.
** Endorsements are not certifications, and are not eligible. If you hold an Addictions Endorsement and want information on how to gain full addictions certification, please contact our office.
